Predicting Problems, Ensuring Prevention

Wisdom teeth commonly create issues without our knowledge.  Wisdom teeth, also known as third molars, often try to come into your mouth as early as 15 years old. Ideally, these wisdom teeth would seamlessly integrate into the dental arch, but this is often not the case. Due to insufficient space because of growth, orthodontics, or the size of the teeth they frequently become impacted and stuck within the bone potentially causing damage.

Wisdom teeth can exert pressure on adjacent teeth, leading to shifting, overcrowding and possible nerve or adjacent root damage. Developing severe cyst or infections in the bone is also at risk
