Why Do You Wear Protective Gear?
As an oral surgeon, I want to share with you a question I often get asked, why do you have to wear protective gear or dress up the way you do to treat me? Do you think I’m sick? No, I don’t think you’re sick. We in fact we go through screening steps to make sure that you’re not but the bad news is that in today’s day and age with COVID-19, we don’t know who is sick and who is not sick. But just as importantly we want to treat everybody exactly the same because we want to make sure that every person is kept as safe as possible. We’ll go to the length of even sterilizing and decontaminating the air, the surfaces of everything that’s touched and the room itself. We will make sure that we’re protecting you from us and us from you and more importantly we want you to know that we have done everything we can to create an individual environment for you so that you can be safe and know that nothing that’s being spread from anyone else can come to you and nothing you might have can spread to anyone else. Our goal of Sharma Oral Surgery is to make sure that the environment you’re in it’s as safe as possible and it’s as individual as possible so that there is absolutely as small a chance as possible to basically spread the virus from one person to the other and in doing so if that means that we have to dress up for everybody if that means that we’ve got to decontaminate the air every time that’s exactly what we’re going to do because your safety matters.
