Why Does My Dental Insurance Not Cover This?

As an oral surgeon, I want to share with you a question I often get asked “Why does my dental insurance or medical insurance not cover this?” Well, to be very honest with you the situation is this; dental insurance is really not used as insurance. It’s a plan you can use to get your routine dental care addressed. It’s not it’s about keeping you healthy, it’s not about correcting anything that needs to be repaired or taken care of. So, with that being said the real question you should be asking is, “If I have to spend this money and make this investment, who should be the person that takes care of me?”

We believe that person that takes care of you should have routine experience with the procedure because if you go to someone who doesn’t do it routinely you may find that you end up with multiple procedures or repeat procedures to get to the same result versus seeing someone who does this every day and can achieve that goal in well a much shorter and easier time.
